Contributor Referrals Are Live

VCL now has a contributor referral program.

The idea is simple: invite people who can give useful product feedback. If they join through your invite and earn from accepted paid work, you can earn a referral reward from VCL.

How it works

Share your invite link from your referral dashboard. When someone joins through that link and completes their first accepted paid contribution, both sides can receive an activation bonus:

• The invited contributor can get $2.
• You can get $2.

After that, you can also earn 10% of their eligible paid work for the program window, up to the current cap per referred contributor.

Referral rewards are paid by VCL. They do not reduce the contributor's earnings.

What counts as eligible work

Eligible work can include boosted project feedback ranked Helpful or High Impact, accepted missions, and other contributor work that VCL marks as eligible for referral commissions.

Some things do not create referral commissions, including bonuses, tips, adjustments, reversed earnings, referral bonuses, and referral commissions themselves. That keeps the program simple and avoids referral loops.

What you can track

Your referral dashboard shows your invite link, referred contributors, qualification status, pending commissions, available earnings, and paid referral rewards.

The program is intentionally controlled. Commissions can stay pending while the underlying work settles, and VCL may review, freeze, or reverse rewards tied to reversed work, duplicate accounts, fraud, policy issues, or low-quality activity.

Who should you invite?

Invite people who can give specific, honest, useful feedback to builders:

• product-minded friends
• designers and developers
• power users of AI tools
• people who write clear bug reports
• people who can explain what confused them in a product flow

This works best when you invite people who will actually contribute, not when you mass-share a link.

Current beta terms

Contributor Referrals are launching as a controlled beta. Current terms may change for future program versions, but existing referral records keep the program version they were created under.

• Activation bonus: $2 for the invited contributor and $2 for the inviter after the invited contributor's first accepted paid contribution settles.
• Commission: 10% of eligible paid work.
• Window: 180 days from qualification.
• Cap: $50 per referred contributor.
• Payout: referral rewards are paid by VCL and follow the normal earnings and payout flow.
