How to actively grow on X (Twitter) with ClimbX.

Why grow on X?

X is a unique platform because posts can reach far beyond your own followers, and even small accounts can go viral and get insane reach from one day to another. This makes it a huge opportunity for small startups and indie hackers who wanna build in public.

I started growing on X myself and had real success. People kept asking how I did it, which eventually made me build ClimbX.so.

My own results growing on X

My first 30 days on X were slow. I went from zero to around 600 followers. Then things started to accelerate, and over the next three days, I went from 600 to 1,000 followers. So it took me 33 days to reach my first thousand.

After that, I had a stretch where I was gaining around 100 followers a day. Around this time, I started building ClimbX and using it to support my own growth. But the results also came with a lot of hours spent posting, replying, learning what worked, and showing up again the next day.

How to use ClimbX to grow on X

X is a challenging platform because growing takes a high daily time investment. You can schedule your posts ahead of time, but you still need to actively engage with people in your own comments and within your niche to build community.

ClimbX helps me as a co-writer to come up with ideas, write posts, and plan when to post them. It makes that part of the work easier and gives me more time to spend on the conversations.

A huge part of X growth is becoming a name people recognize and actually wanna follow. Just posting blindly won't get you there. You also need to be active in your niche and give people a reason to care about what you have to say.

My daily routine on X

Today, I schedule eight posts a day through ClimbX, so I don't have to manually post eight times throughout the day. I also use the engage tool to find relevant posts in my niche to reply to.

But that's just part of it. I still spend five-plus hours every day on X, replying to every comment I get on my own posts and being active in the community. Having a tool helps, but the time spent talking to people is still on me.

A huge part of this is being a familiar voice that keeps showing up. People start recognizing your name and what you talk about. In my experience, long breaks can hit that momentum hard, which is one of the difficult parts of growing on X. It can be hard to switch off when you feel like you need to be there every day.

What I learned from building ClimbX

ClimbX is a tool, not a magical solution. Building it has made it very clear to me how hard it is to get that expectation right. People want a shortcut to growth, and I get that, but I can't promise that a tool will do everything when I still spend five-plus hours a day on X myself.

It's kinda tricky building something useful that people wanna keep using, while keeping it simple enough that they can stick with it. I also underestimated how much help people need beyond writing posts. Knowing what to post is one thing. Knowing what to do after posting is another.

That's something I'm still figuring out with ClimbX, while using it every day myself.
